Dry Drayton School and Village Association
The Dry Drayton School and Village Association has now been running for over 25 years and the current Committee comprises: Chairman: Fleur Clegg, Treasurer: Roger Swain, Secretary: Georgina Mason, Publicity: Neil Harris, plus members: Rob Howard, and Jenny Hack. It is entirely voluntary-run and all school parents and village residents are automatically members. The S&VA’s aims are to promote the mutually supportive relationship between the school and the village and to help provide activities and facilities in both school and village. The S&VA’s fundraising is achieved through events such as Feast Week (based around Feast Day 29th June), Musical Revues, hiring out the marquee and donations. Regular termly meetings are held to discuss its activities and its AGM is usually held in February. New recruits to join the committee and/or organise events are always most welcome!
Marquee
The School and Village Association owns 2 marquees which are hired out during the summer to raise funds, as well as supplying the venue for Feast Week and other events in the village. The bookings are in June, July and August. The marquee bookings and rotas are organized by Neil Harris, Tel 01954 789049. If you would like to hire them, we suggest that you book as early as possible because it is already very popular.
If anyone would like to join the team of volunteers to erect and dismantle the marquee we would be more than willing to include you in the rotas. (You also get a free pint at a pub afterwards.) For more information on hiring or becoming a team member please contact us. We will assume that anyone who was on the team last year is able to help again this year – please let us know if this is not the case.
Village Newsletter
The S&VA publishes the monthly Village Newsletter. Dates for the Diary should be sent to Sylvia Pryer and the same list will be included here after the newsletter is published.
